International Women’s Day 2022

To celebrate the International Women's Day, we would like to present the free, open, online courses developed as part of our work in a project for the UN Women’s Second Chance Education and Vocational Training (SCE) Programme.

To celebrate the International Women's Day, we would like to present the free, open, online courses developed as part of our work in a project for the UN Women’s Second Chance Education and Vocational Training (SCE) Programme. The project developed, piloted and tested a participatory video approach to the development and contextualisation of online courses. We supported local facilitators in Cameroon, Jordan, India, Mexico, Chile and Australia to learn how to use participatory video to create courses targeting the most disadvantaged women in their communities. The first course, Life and Career Planning for Women, is targeted at 67,000 women from Indigenous, refugee, displaced, and low-income groups, predominantly based in the six countries who face many constraints accessing relevant educational programmes, including cultural, socio-emotional, geographic, poverty, conflict and gender barriers. To further support local facilitators tin the participatory video process, we developed a free, open online course, Participatory Video for Facilitators, which provides basic, hand-on training in the use of participatory video. Undertaking this project during the pandemic, and facilitating participatory video online, was hard work and challenging, but it also highlighted the determination and resilience of the local facilitators in the six countries, and their commitment to a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.   #BreakTheBias #IWD2022   The full set of courses are:
